Your Study Abroad Checklist Before You are Ready to Go!

Planning to study abroad is not that challenging, right? Once you are done with your admission and tickets, all you have to do is pack everything up and move towards your destination! Well, it looks quite simple but, when you actually start packing for your stay, you tend to forget a lot of things. Our recommendation: Make a checklist! Checklists are the best way to keep yourself on schedule and remember everything that is essential to pack. If you think you are missing something while making a checklist, here is all that you need to know!

Necessary Documents

Going to a whole new place to study won’t be easy if you don’t have the documentation ready before you leave. If someone comes to your house, you ask them who they are, right? Similarly, going to another country requires your identification proof and other documents supporting that proof! Make sure you have access to Visa, passports and other documents that they need. It is also recommended that you carry a pen along because you might need it before the time of your arrival so, why not be ready for everything right?

Advance Plane Tickets Booking!

Okay, so, we all know that the tariff of travelling on a plane changes often and we always try our best to get a ticket at the lowest rate. To hack that, always try to book tickets months before travelling for the foreign exchange programs for high school students. Being a student, this will make tickets affordable for you and anyways, it’s best to book previously and avoid last minute hassles!

Plan Your Arrangements for the Stay

If you are thinking you will keep the living arrangements for the last minute, let us tell you that it can get very difficult if you don’t get accommodation for your stay before leaving. Always try your best to think of essentials months before you are planning to leave. Think if you have someone that can keep you for a few weeks before you find a place of your own. You can even rent a property from your native land, but make sure to have something as a backup plan!

Checking With the Bank

You don’t want your bank to keep on interrupting your smooth stay when you travel. If you have a plan to stay longer, make sure to inform your bank. If you haven’t figured out your transactions while travelling, ensure to get an international card that helps you pay your bills stress-free.

Packing the Essentials Only

We understand the temptations to pack everything and leave so that you don’t spend a lot of money and think of conversions but, this is not right. There are chances that your electronics like laptops and phones might not work in another country. We strongly suggest leaving them there as we are sure the school must have arranged something for you! Also, packing up essentials that are difficult to purchase there should be your priority. If you think toiletries come in this category, you should know that whatever you want can be found abroad.

Don’t Forget those Walking Shoes

You know you will be doing a lot of walking, right? It’s best to walk as you explore new things on your way, and we strongly recommend you to purchase some good quality shoes for that! They should match with every outfit you wear, after all. If you wish to take a few more things from your shoe rack, we suggest you to create a separate list for that.

Any Medical Prescriptions Required

Using medicines constantly? Well, for whatever reason you have been taking a course of medication, it is important for you to get it checked before you leave and ask the doctor for a prescription for the same. No prescription medicines are not allowed in the airport; you must get them done if you don’t want to get worried at the last moment.

Review Immunizations

Multiple countries check for the vaccinations and other immunization shots you have taken. Make sure you are ready with the document proving that you are immunized to certain diseases and won’t be a liability to the other country. You also have to make sure and get your insurance done. It can be a problem if you have a significant issue and you don’t have an insurance to cover the misery!

Now that you know the most essential things required for your travel and stay, we hope that you have a smooth journey to the new study place. With all the excitement and fun, don’t forget to click lots and lots of photos to make memories and make sure that you equally devote your time and energy to study and learn new things from a new nation!
