[Watch] Solve For Tomorrow Season 2: Team Demeter Reveals Their Strategy to Win the Competition, Learnings from Bootcamp and More

After being selected from 70,000 + applications across the nation and competing with the top 30 teams, Demeter emerged as one of the top 10 teams of the Solve For Tomorrow innovation competition. Their ingenious idea of early detection and prevention of diseases among crops got them this far in the program, and they are determined to win it!

 

Abdul Rahman Jasbeer K A, Prithvi Ullas, and Asheen Afthab M from Ernakulam, Kerala, came together to conceptualize an aerial drone capable of addressing this issue at its core.

 

Demeter’s Experience at the IIT Delhi Bootcamp 

Team Demeter’s Solve For Tomorrow journey kicked off with an exclusive bootcamp at IIT Delhi where the top 30 teams received exclusive mentorship from FITT & MeitY Startup Hub partners. Talking about their experience, the team said, “We learned a lot about prototyping, the concept of design thinking, how the competition works, and networking.”

 

Plans to Implement the Learnings 

The bootcamp took the team on a transformative journey with exclusive workshops on ‘Design Thinking’ and ‘Entrepreneurship’ and feedback sessions by their mentors. Sharing the impact of these on their project, the team said, “After the bootcamp we had a discussion among the team about the differences between us and our competitors. Also, with training on the concept of ‘Design Thinking’, we were able to create a more human-friendly design.”

 

Strategy for Winning the Competition

The trio is vigorously preparing for the last leg of the competition and working on creating a functional prototype. What about their strategy for winning the competition? Giving us a little hint, the team said, “It’s about our technology, confidence, and conviction.”
