LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Herbarium LA, the only vertically licensed cannabis dispensary in Los Angeles, is raising the bar in Lompoc, opening a new retail store focused on wellness and medical needs in the former location of Lotus River.

The West Laurel Avenue location offers in-store consultations with knowledgeable budtenders, and curbside pickup with delivery within a 30-mile radius.

Herbarium owners have aggressive plans that include a wellness center and drive-through service (coming this spring). Herbarium Lompoc plans to offer remedial massages incorporating the wellness products offered. The full retail store with social distance protocols in place carry all the brands available at the Los Angeles store and unique to Herbarium – Caviar Gold, Don Pablo, Packed and an array of edibles and pain relief products. Each Friday, the Lompoc location has an alfresco “Friday Food Truck & Flower” parking lot event.

Herbarium offers a wide array of discounts aimed at making cannabis available and affordable. First time customers receive a 20% discount, Veterans and Disabled, Seniors (60+) and purchases over $200 qualify for a 15% discount, and Medicinal and Refer a Friend get a 10% discount. Herbarium’s locations in the Los Angeles area and Needles have been open throughout the pandemic with a significant increase in delivery, as cannabis dispensaries are considered an essential business. Marijuana is fast becoming a favorite medication among Americans for common aging health problems, joint and muscle pain, sleep disorders, and anxiety and depression, chronicled in a recent report in the Journal of American Geriatrics Society. In a survey of more than 550 seniors, 61% who have used medicinal marijuana began using it after age 60. Herbarium’s delivery service in Lompoc will be with a discreet fleet of vehicles and drivers. Branded vehicles will be added only in some specific locations.

Herbarium has been operating since the legalization of medical marijuana in 2006 and is well suited for the Lompoc area. The brand holds the only multiple license – for retail, delivery, manufacturing, cultivation and distribution. All products are independently tested, carry the certified CA symbol, and are legally sealed.

Cannabis sales tax have been a significant contributor to city and county revenues. Cannabis tax revenues in Santa Barbara county for the fiscal year 2020-21 are estimated at $10.6 million, money officials say will help backfill losses associated with the COVID-19 pandemic-induced recession. California has raised $1 billion in cannabis tax revenue since voters approved the legalization of recreational cannabis in 2018.

The new Lompoc store at 921 West Laurel Avenue is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The company’s other California locations are in West Hollywood and Needles, with additional expansion currently underway.
