Sub-urban, sub-speciality mental health clinic

Murdoch Psychiatry is developing a sub-urban, sub-specialty model of care for mental health with integrated disability support services. Identifying the community’s needs, we have prioritized four sub-specialty clinics at four locations-Como, Cockburn, Rockingham and Mandurah.

Murdoch Psychiatry-Veteran/ADF clinic is based in Rockingham to cater to the veteran community and Garden Island base. The clinic has a psychiatrist, ex-OpenArms Psychologist, and neurostimulation (transcranial magnetic stimulation).

Murdoch Psychiatry has partnered with Cockburn Wellbeing and Curtin University to provide drug and alcohol support in the area. The services will include diagnosis, support, treatment (both medications and psychological) for clients struggling with substance abuse issues.

Murdoch Psychiatry is also developing a memory clinic intending to provide consistent best practice guidelines for diagnosing and treating dementia, mentored by Australian Dementia Clinics.

Murdoch Psychiatry has neurostimulation (RTMS) at all four sites to help people with treatment-resistant depression as well as allied health disability support team.

We look forward to the community supporting our clinic. In the future, we are planning ADHD Clinic, a Transition clinic from child-adolescent to adult and day therapy units.
