Solve For Tomorrow Season 2: Team Musketeers is Working Towards Social Inclusion of The Hearing-Impaired with Their Augmented Reality Glasses

Team Musketeers is a collective endeavor of Pratyaksh Dhairya Panwar, Shakti Singh, and Bhasha Tyagi from Delhi. The trio is determined to address the communication barriers the hearing-impaired face and innovate for their social inclusion under the ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ theme of Solve For Tomorrow season 2.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 1 billion young adults are at risk of permanent, avoidable hearing loss. Team Musketeers realizes the challenges and impacts of such a risk and seeks to mitigate it with their AR (Augmented Reality) glasses capable of converting speech to text.

These AR glasses will be integrated with speech recognition advanced technologies such as speech recognition algorithms, Automatic Speech Recognition, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to convert speech to text in real-time. Moreover, the glasses will also feature language modeling and translation algorithms to convert the transcribed text into different languages.

Team Musketeers believes their innovative AR glasses have the potential to change the landscape of hearing aid and help with the social inclusion of those hard of hearing. Sharing the team’s overall goals and ambitions with Solve For Tomorrow, Pratyaksh says, “I am passionate about innovation, and SFT is a popular platform among our circles at IIT, Delhi. We aspire to make a positive impact with our innovation and become entrepreneurs eventually.”
