[Pickle Mania] Learn How to Make Yummy Gooseberry Pickle in 5 Minutes on Samsung Masala & SunDry™ Microwave

When it comes to pickles, gooseberries also known as ‘Amla’ are one of the most popular choices among Indians. Its sweet, sour, and tangy taste lends a flavour fusion when made into pickle. With Samsung’s unique and intelligent Masala and SunDry™ Microwave, you can now prepare scrumptious gooseberry pickle instantly at home.

By following simple and easy steps, you can relish gooseberry pickle and get reminded of the traditional ‘ghar ka achaar’ made by your beloved grandmother and mother.

 

Here are the ingredients needed:

  • 500 gms of dried Indian Gooseberries
  • 4 Tbsp of Mustard Oil
  • 2 Pinches of Asafoetida
  • 1 Tbsp of Cumin Seeds
  • 2 Tbsp of Fennel Seeds
  • 1 Tbsp of Coarsely Ground Fenugreek Powder
  • 1 Tsp of Salt
  • 1 Tsp of Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tsp of Red Chili Powder

Before making the pickle, the gooseberries need to be softened so that these can be de-seeded easily. Here are the steps for the same:

  • Wash and dry the gooseberries before putting them in a glass bowl
  • Keep the bowl inside the Samsung Masala and SunDry™ Microwave
  • Select Masala and SunDry™ Auto Cook button
  • Now, turn the multi-functional button to number 4 for selecting the Pickle Mode
  • Press ‘Enter’, and then turn the jog dial again, moving it from 4 to 7 and press ‘Start’
  • The timer will automatically be set to 7 minutes
  • Once done, take the bowl out and de-seed the gooseberries

Now, let’s learn how to make tasty Gooseberry Pickle

  • Cut the de-seeded gooseberries into small pieces, ideal for pickles and put them in a glass bowl
  • Add all the ingredients and mix well so that the berries are coated nicely in all the spices
  • Place the bowl inside the microwave once again and the panel will show a cooking time of 3 minutes
  • Press ‘Start’ and wait as the pickle magic begins brewing
  • After 3 minutes, be prepared to have your kitchen fill with pickle aroma
