What is LipMemo?

LipMemo LLC is a social media, video-sharing mobile application for IOS and Android devices. The app was founded in October 2020 and was released to the Google Play store on April 27, 2021, and to the App Store on August 19, 2021. LipMemo requires that all users must be at least 12 years of age, however, there is no age verification on the app. As long as the user has an email, phone number, Google, Apple, or Facebook account, they can create a profile on the app.

Users can create and upload their own short videos of them dancing, singing, talking, and much more. Users can also browse and interact with other content creators, which covers a wide range of topics, songs, and styles. These videos can then be categorized together by hashtags, which often correspond to challenges, memes, current events. (i.e. #trending)

Users can also use the Livestream feature to interact with other users and followers. 

What age is LipMemo recommended for?

LipMemo is recommended for ages 12+ mainly due to privacy issues and mature content. However, LipMemo requires that users be at least 12 years old to enjoy the full experience. Anyone under the age of 18 must-have parental or guardian approval, before accessing the app — but there are plenty of young tween users.

How to create a LipMemo video?

To create a new video, click on the LipMemo logo video camera icon in the toolbar, on the bottom of the screen. Next, select the ‘Upload’ video button to choose your video from your camera roll. After, you have the option to trim the video and add a cover to the video. After that, you can add a description, hashtags, and can also tag friends in the video. Below the description, there are five settings that you can enable or disable. In the first setting, you can choose if you want your video to be public or private. You can also enable or disable comments, duet, save to the device, and if you have multiple parts, you can enable the setting to add multiple parts to the original main video. 

How to add your own music?

LipMemo offers users the ability to add their own music and music image to their videos. First, upload the music image. Then, you can upload your own music from your music library on your phone, which can then be used in your videos. 

In the Android version, you can choose the desired duration of the video, 15 seconds or 60 seconds. Next, you have the option to add filters to your video. After adding an optional filter, you can add a description, tags, and @tag other users. 

How can you make your LipMemo account private?

Currently, in version 1.0.5, there is no option to make your entire profile private. However, you can choose the videos that you would like to be made public or private. 

How do I delete a LipMemo video?

To delete a video that you have posted to your account, select the video you want to delete from your profile. From there, tap the triangle icon on the sidebar of the video and select ‘Delete’ (it has a trash can icon). You will be asked whether you are sure you want to delete the video. Then it will be completely removed from your profile.

How can I delete a LipMemo account?

Deleting a LipMemo account takes a few steps. First, go to your profile, then select the “…” icon in the top-right corner. Select Manage Account. LipMemo requires you to verify that the account you want to delete belongs to you, and you may be required to log in to a third party such as Apple, Google, or Facebook account that you signed up with, or add the phone number you used to register. Once you’ve verified the account, you’ll get a code to the plugin that will allow you to delete your account. 

How to promote a video?

All users can promote any video(s) of their own, and payment is through PayPal. First, go to your profile page, where all of your videos are located. Pick the desired video to promote and click on the blue “Promote” button. Afterwards, you can choose where users can view the promotion, from a website or your user profile on the app. Lastly, set a monthly budget and the duration of the promotion. 

How to use the Livestream feature?

To start a Livestream, go to your profile page, select the video camera icon on the top left of the screen that says “Live”. Live Streams do not have a time limit. However, the feature is currently being beta tested, but will be fully functional and available in the next software update. 

Does LipMemo have parental controls?

LipMemo offers several ways for parents to manage kids’ accounts. You can either enable time limits and the content filter on your kid’s phone and protect the settings with a passcode. More parental controls will be added to the app and will be available in the next update. 

How can I monitor my kid’s activity on LipMemo?

Other than Restricted Mode, there’s no way to filter out content on LipMemo, so parents are encouraged to share an account with kids under the age of 12 years old. This will let you keep an eye on what your kid is viewing and posting.
