Manipal, 4th March 2024: The much-anticipated International Conference on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology commenced with a prestigious inaugural ceremony on February 29, 2024. Hosted by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, the event witnessed a significant convergence of leading researchers, scholars, and industry experts to explore recent breakthroughs and practical implementations in the realm of nanotechnology.
The conference was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. Dr. M. D. Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). He spoke on how researchers should strive to tackle real-world challenges by harnessing the potential of Nano Science and Nanotechnology.
Dr. Narayan Sabhabit, Pro Vice Chancellor (Technical Sciences), MAHE welcomed the gathering and Dr. Sharath K Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor (Health Science), MAHE provided the overview about the conference. Dr. Shantikumar V Nair, the Dean of Research at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and the guest of honor for the conference, emphasized that the focus of research should shift from publishing findings to actively pursuing practical applications or translational research.

We hope to spark fresh perspectives and technological breakthroughs that will influence science and technology in the future by bringing together specialists and academics in this exciting field. Additionally, we must ensure that the emphasis of research changes from disseminating discoveries to actively seeking translational research or practical applications”.
Dr. Sharath K Rao, said, “We have reached a major turning point in our quest for excellence in research and teaching with the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology conference. By working together on this project, we can further demonstrate our dedication to creating an environment that encourages inquiry and discovery and equips our teachers and students to meaningfully contribute to society”.
Renowed researchers like Dr. Weihua Li, University of Wollongong, Australia; Dr. Navakantha Bhat, Indian Institute of Science, India; Dr. C. V. Yelamaggad, Scientist, Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences, India; Dr. Sergii Rudiuk, Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS), Paris; Dr. Amitava Mukherjee, VIT University, India and Dr. R. S. Jayasree, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical, India in the field of Nanscience and Nanotechnology will be delivering the keynotes during the two day conference.
Approximately 180 delegates are expected to participate in the conference, where they will be showcasing and presenting their research findings and collaborating, exchanging ideas with delegates.
