Indigenous technology to control boiler accidents

The following links show that more than 23,000 boiler accidents, leading to vapour explosion, did happen world over. India alone accounts for 34 deaths last year due to boiler explosion as stated by the Fellow at (b) in his proposal document.

The Government has recently identified a project for funding at IIT-Patna. Under this project it is planned to perform a detailed study to understand the science behind such accidents.

This information was given by Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
