Grand Maratha Foundation Organizes Large Scale Free Grocery Distribution Drive Enriching More Than 2500 Families in Thane District

Thane, Maharashtra, India: Grand Maratha Foundation, a non-governmental organization based in Maharashtra organized a large scale free grocery distribution drive across various locations in Thane for the needy and underprivileged. The drive started in Shree Krushna Nagar, Ambernath and in Leprosy Colony Anand Nagar Thane. The grocery distribution drive was further extended at Meenatai Thakre Hall Thane for disabled people, theatre backstage artists and the transgender community as well.

All the events were conducted under the guidance of Ms. Madhavi Shelatkar, Trustee, Grand Maratha Foundation, Mr. Rohit Shelatkar, Founder and Mr. Rajesh Tawade, Director, Meyer Vitabiotics.

More than 500 leprosy affected underprivileged families got benefited from the free grocery distribution drive conducted at the Leprosy Colony Anand Nagar Thane. Meanwhile, at Krushna Nagar Ambernath, more than 700 underprivileged families benefited from the drive and received essential grocery items. Additionally, at Meenatai Thakare Hall Thane more than 500 disabled people, 300 theatre backstage artists and more than 100 transgender people were aided from the drive. The events were graced by Shri Naresh Mhaske, Mayor Thane City.

The Ambernath drive successfully organized with the help of Shivsena Shakha Shree Krushna Nagar Ambarnath. Shri Arvind Walekar (Shahar Pramukh Shivsena), Shri Arvind Malusare (Shakha Pramukh Shivsena) graced the event with their presence.

The pandemic has caused distress among people’s life. In this crisis, the underprivileged and poor have suffered the most. Various organisations are working unconditionally for the betterment for this section of the society. Grand Maratha Foundation too has been in the forefront to provide aid to underprivileged right since the first lockdown was announced in the country. The organization continues to work with various local civic bodies and reach out to more and more needy people.
