Developmental Work under PMKSY

Details of development work being carried out under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) benefitting Banswara & Dungarpur districts of Rajasthan, and Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh, are as under:

(i)  Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (PMKSY-AIBP):

While no project included under PMKSY-AIBP has its command benefitting Banswara & Dungarpur Districts of Rajasthan, one project of Uttar Pradesh, namely Bansagar Canal project, has a part of its command in Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh. Total Central Assistance (CA) released to the project during 2016-17 to 2019-20, is Rs.143.51 crore. The project has been declared as complete.

(ii)  PMKSY – Har Khet Ko Pani – Repair, Renovation and Restoration (RRR) of Water Bodies:

Under RRR of Water Bodies component of PMKSY-Har Khet Ko Pani, two clusters comprising of 32 number of water bodies (including 10 number in Banswara) and 36 number of water bodies (including 4 number in Banswara) have been taken up in the state of Rajasthan, for an estimated cost of Rs.187.82 crore and targeted irrigation potential of 13.19 thousand hectare. Central Assistance of Rs.62.18 crore has been released to the State for the above clusters.

 (iii) PMKSY – Per Drop More Crop (PDMC):

Under PMKSY- PDMC, an area of 3,707.96 hectare in Banswara and 1,415.92 hectare in Dungarpur districts of Rajasthan, has been covered under micro irrigation during 2015-16 to 2020-21 (so far). Further, an area of 3,125 hectare in Prayagraj District of Uttar Pradesh has also been covered under micro irrigation, under PDMC during 2015-16 to 2020-21 (so far). During this period, total Central Assistance of Rs.722.82 crore and Rs.421.79 crore has been released to Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, respectively, under PDMC, which also includes release for PDMC works in Banswara & Dungarpur districts of Rajasthan and Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh.

(iv) PMKSY – Watershed Development Component (WDC):

Under PMKSY-WDC component, Department of Land Resources has funded four projects with a target area of 24 thousand hectare, and sixteen projects with a target area of 90 thousand hectare, to be brought additionally under protective irrigation, in Banswara and Dungarpur districts of Rajasthan, respectively. Further, four projects targeted to bring additional 15 thousand hectare under protective irrigation, has been funded for WDC works in Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh. For all the WDC projects including those in Banswara & Dungarpur districts of Rajasthan, Rs.1511.27 crore has been released as central assistance to Rajasthan since 2015-16 so far. Similarly, Rs.197.31 crore has been released during this period to Government of Uttar Pradesh as central assistance under PMKSY-WDC.

Government of Rajasthan has informed that in Dungarpur district (Batch 2014-15), five water catchment projects with effective area of 27,613 hectare and estimated cost of Rs.33.14 crore have been approved as per 18 years perspective plan. Further, one water catchment project of Batch 2013-14, with effective area of 5,354 hectare and estimated cost of Rs.6.42 crore, in Dungarpur district was approved as per 18 years perspective plan, which has been reported to be foreclosed.

No such complaint has been received in the Ministry.
