Events under way celebrating U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary
(The Center Square) – A U.S. Army Fitness Competition began Saturday’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of the military branch, with a parade in Washington D.C. scheduled to close out the day.
In between, music, fireworks and more are planned.
The event coincides with Flag Day and President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.
The parade will include hundreds of tanks, about 7,000 soldiers, flyovers and more.
Protests are expected across the country in response to the celebratory events being held in Washington D.C. The No Kings Nationwide Day of Defiance protests put on by progressive groups are expected in more than 2,000 communities across the U.S. to push back against Trump’s policies.
