Xiaomi teases Redmi Note 2 Pro’s fingerprint sensor

Chinese startup Xiaomi is holding an event on November 24, during which the company is expected to unveil its new affordable phablet Redmi Note 2 Pro, which was also seen on TENAA recently. Along with the phablet, it may also bring to light its new flagship smartphone, Mi 5.
What confirmed the news of Redmi Note 2 Pro going official next week is an image posted by Xiaomi president Lin Bin on the social networking site, Weibo.

The image, showing a gold colour smartphone with a fingerprint sensor on the back, matches the pictures that earlier surfaced online showing a back panel that was supposed to be Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro’s.

According to TENAA, the telecommunications equipment certification center in China, Redmi Note 2 Pro will have a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen display, and will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6795 (Helio X10) chipset and offer 16GB of internal storage to the user. The smartphone will pack a 3,060mAh battery, and sport 13MP primary camera along with 5MP secondary camera.

Xiaomi’s new phablet will run Android Lollipop skinned with MIUI. The smartphone is expected to be launched in two variants, one with 2GB RAM, which is likely to be priced at 1,099 yuan, and the other with 3GB RAM priced at 1,499 yuan. However, whether Xiaomi will also be unveiling the Mi 5 smartphone on the same day has not been confirmed as yet.
