WSC & Company Announces Launch of Middle-Market Buyout Strategy

CHARLOTTE, N.C.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–WSC & Company, LLC (“WSC”) is excited to announce the launch of WSC | Heritage (“Heritage”) to seek majority investments in U.S.-based, middle-market businesses. Heritage is led by Partners Lindsay Lewellen and Alex Gajewski.

Heritage deploys its proprietary Industry DIRECTSM framework for identifying and driving value in attractive niches within four industry segments: Business Services, Home Services, Industrial Growth, and Healthcare. Industry DIRECTSM is a documented methodology, developed by the partners, that aggregates tools and best practices refined from decades of experience investing in the middle market.

Heritage is a natural but distinct extension of WSC & Company, which was founded in 2012 to build exceptional businesses in partnership with extraordinary leaders over the long-term. While WSC’s Search & Acquire supports entrepreneurs seeking to acquire and operate businesses as CEOs through the search fund model, Heritage is focused on majority buyouts of middle-market companies with existing leadership in place.

“We are extremely excited to partner with Lindsay and Alex to launch WSC | Heritage. Over the past decade, we have seen an opportunity to expand our reach and to partner with a wider set of private businesses. Combined with the resources and relationships of WSC & Company, Alex and Lindsay have the backgrounds and ability to further drive our impact in the middle market,” said WSC Partner, Badge Stone.

Lindsay and Alex have built careers focused on the middle market. Lindsay has two decades of experience investing in, advising, and operating businesses, most recently at Copeley Capital and Excellere Partners. Alex is an experienced investor and advisor, most recently at Hempstead Partners, GreyLion Capital, and BlackArch Partners.

Managing Director and Partner Lindsay Lewellen says, “I couldn’t be more excited about partnering with WSC and Alex to build something unique in private equity. Our Industry DIRECTSM framework, combined with WSC’s ecosystem of resources built across investments in over 70 companies and committed capital, differentiates WSC | Heritage in the lower middle market — from industry ideation through portfolio value creation.”

Alex Gajewski, Partner, adds: “Operators in the middle market often reach an inflection point where continued growth requires a new set of capabilities, additional personnel, and an increased level of capital investment. The structure we have built with WSC allows us to serve as value-added partners to these operators, as they scale. I am thrilled to join the team and look forward to getting started.”
