Tata Zica set to launch on January 20; likely to be priced below Rs 4 lakh

The much-anticipated Tata Zica will finally be launched in India on January 20, 2016. Set to take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai i10 and others in the league, the Zica’s entry-level variant is likely to be priced below Rs 4 lakh.

Third all-new product under the company’s HORIZONEXT product strategy, after the Zest and the Bolt, the Tata Zica hatchback has been designed taking inputs from Tata Motors three design studios – UK, Italy and Pune. With prominent character lines on sides and creases around the body, the Tata Zica appears quite sporty and is surely one of the better-looking Tata cars ever.

The Zica will be offered with two all-new engine options – a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and a 1.05-litre Revotorq – paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the petrol mill churns out 84bhp and 115Nm, the oil burner is good for 69bhp and 140Nm.

With features such as multi-drive modes, HARMAN-developed infotainment system, rear parking sensors, USB, AUX & Bluetooth audio support, 8-speakers, Turn-by-Turn navigation app, Juke-car app and others, the Tata Zica will be the most feature-rich car in its league. The vehicle will also get several safety features such as dual airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakefoce distribution and corner stability control. However, many of the aforementioned features might only come with the top-end variant.
