It’s official, the tech industry has unequivocally lost its marbles. After rumours surfaced last month that PepsiCo was building a smartphone, the device was officially announced today. And it actually seems like a pretty phone.

Called the Pepsi Phone P1, the smartphone is being manufactured by Shenzhen Scooby Communication Equipment. It features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080) 2.5D display with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front cam. It packs a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor, coupled with a Mali 450-MP4 GPU and 2GB RAM. The phone has 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 64GB) has dual SIM slots and supports 4G connectivity. The smartphone runs the dido OS 6.1 custom UI on top of Android Lollipop 5.1, sports a fingerprint sensor, and is powered by a 3000mAh battery.

The Pepsi Phone P1 is currently being crowdfunded in China on this website. The early bird price of 499 Yuan (US $78) has already been sold out. Available in blue, gold, and silver, you can still order a piece for 699 Yuan (US $110), though only about 400 of the 1,000 pieces are remaining. Once those sell out, the phone will be available for 999 Yuan (US $156).
