NSW company 3VIMA purchases cutting edge, giant LUTYEN 3D construction printer

This week Victoria based robotics and 3D printer technology company, LUTYEN celebrated the sale and transport of its premier, large scale, construction 3D printer – to NSW startup 3VIMA.

The Platypus X4 Special Edition 3D printer is transforming the construction industry worldwide, with recent sales to the U.K and the United Arab Emirates.

It has a unique ability to print entire structures in a single print up to eight metres wide and four metres high, and is easily transported to site and once on site, highly mobile enabling it to move around site with ease.

Designed and manufactured by world leading Australian 3D printing technology company LUTYEN, 3VIMA’s purchase has the capacity to build single structures in a matter of hours.

Ahmed Mahil, cofounder and CEO of LUTYEN 3D said:

“Using our state of the art 3D printer and technology, combined with our award winning Ultimatecrete Strength concrete mix, 3VIMA is positioning itself as the leader of hybrid building practices in Australia.

“This is an extremely exciting time for Australia and the 3D building and construction sector worldwide,” said Mr Mahil.

3VIMA CEO and Founder Jai Ranganathan is a visionary determined to implement cutting edge technology in the construction market who chose LUTYEN after extensive research over the last three years, and having had many discussions with manufacturers overseas.

“We are absolutely thrilled to take delivery of the Platypus X4,” said Mr Ranganathan.

“We searched across the world for the best technology in the 3D printing space only to find it right here in Melbourne.

“We feel fortunate to find an Australian product with world class standards and industry leading capabilities.

“I save on overseas transport costs, and the best thing is I will have ongoing service from Ahmed and his team.”

Mr Ranganathan is excited about the proven capabilities of 3VIMA’s purchase:

“The design of the X4 Special Edition is exceptional, as it has the capacity to do an entire house in a single print setup, it takes less than two hours to assemble on-site.

“We will be able to run the printer in shifts around the clock, with extremely low noise factor, which can become a huge advantage when we operate with neighbours around.”

“Through our extensive tests and ongoing field projects, we are assured of LUTYEN ’s high quality standards and equipment reliability, which has never failed us even once,” said Mr Ranganathan.

Mr Ranganathan stated 3VIMA’s pipeline projects include a cottage style resort in the Blue Mountains.
