The Central Bureau of Investigation has today arrested a Senior Section Engineer, South Central Railway, Jammalamadugu, Guntakal Division for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 14,000/- from the Complainant.
A case was registered on a complaint. The Complainant has alleged that he was absent from his duties during February-March 2020 due to ill health and the Senior Section Engineer, South Central Railway, Jammalamadugu, Guntakal Division demanded a bribe of Rs. 14,000/- from him for having shown his absent period of 21 days as ‘on duty’, for not issuing charge sheet against him and for assigning office duty to him.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs. 14,000/- from the complainant. Searches are being conducted at the office and residence of the accused.
The arrest accused will be produced before the Competent Court.
