CBI ARRESTS A CONSTABLE OF DELHI POLICE FOR ACCEPTING BRIBE OF Rs. 35,000/-

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Constable posted at Police Station Subhash Place, New Delhi for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 35,000/- from the complainant.

A case was registered against the accused on a complaint wherein it was alleged that a Constable and a Head Constable picked up a friend of the complainant who was playing cards from the complainant’s rented house and in lieu of setting the friend free, accused demanded a bribe of Rs. 35,000/. CBI laid a trap and caught the Constable while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 35,000/- from the complainant.

Searches were conducted at four locations in Jaipur (Rajasthan) and Delhi which led to recovery of incriminating documents including property documents, bank account details and a sum of Rs. 8.87 lakh (approx).

The accused will be produced today before the Competent Court, Delhi.
