It has been five months since the release of the final build of the Cyanogen OS 12.1 which is based on Android Lollipop 5.1 but Micromax’s subsidiary, Yu had not released an update for its Yu Yureka and Yu Yureka Plus devices until yesterday. The company has finally started rolling out the update and has apologised for the unusual delay of the OTA update.
The company’s CEO, Rahul Sharma, stated “We understand it took longer than usual but we wanted to put up something concrete and ensure its worth your wait. Apologies for a longer wait time.” The new of the new update was also declared by the CEO on his Twitter account.
Yu has tried to justify the delay by introducing new features that includes enhanced support for video and audio playback, thermal control, one handed use and a LiveDisplay that will adjust the screen setting according to the surroundings, which is more advanced than the usual automatic brightness. The operating system will also have a new one handed launcher for easier accessibility.
