Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship phone Mi5 has been subject of countless leaks and rumours for quite some time now. With no release date yet in sight, the Mi5 continues to hog rumour mills each day, although it is advised you take every bit of leaked information with a pinch of salt. The Mi5 is now said to come with a bezel-less display, if a new image posted by the company itself on Weibo is to be gone by. Since the said image has been reportedly teased by Xiaomi itself, chances are this might just be the real deal.
In the leaked image, the yet-to-be-announced Mi5 is seen sporting a design that looks like a merger of the original Mi4 and the Mi Note with a bezel-less display quite prominent, along with a metallic frame. The Mi5 is kept in close proximity to Xiaomi’s Yeelight bedside lamp. Sadly, that’s all the information that comes out of the image.
The Mi5 which was earlier rumoured to launch on December 3 still doesn’t have a launch date. It is expected that Xiaomi’s next flagship will come with a 5.3-inch QHD display with a 1440×2560 pixels resolution and 3D Touch-like pressure sensitive technology much like Apple used in its latest batch of iPhones. The Mi5 is expected to rock either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or MediaTek Helio X20 processor with 4GB RAM and 16GB or 64GB of internal. It will reportedly sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with dualLED flash. It will reportedly use a 3,030mAh battery.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun had recently revealed that the Mi5 is worth the wait and is very, very good. Jun however did not hint at a probable launch date for the phone.
