Xiaomi Mi 5 price, specifications and features leaked by online retailer

To say the Xiaomi Mi 5 is among the most-awaited smartphones is an understatement at best. Xiaomi’s smartphone has been subjected to numerous leaks, and now an online retailer may have revealed almost everything there is to know about the Xiaomi Mi 5.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 has been listed on Oppomart’s website, along with a full set of specifications, features and price. The listing doesn’t include an image, but from what we have come across thus far, the Mi 5 seems to look similar to the Mi Note, albeit in a smaller form factor and ultra-thin bezels. The forthcoming smartphone is also expected to be the first in Xiaomi’s lineup to boast a physical home button up front. This button is expected to have a fingerprint sensor integrated into it.

Xiaomi Mi 5 specifications and features: As per the listing, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to flaunt a 5.5-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display, and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM.

The smartphone is expected to be available in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variants, and will also feature a 20-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera, 3,800mAh battery. It will run on Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7. In line with a recent leak, the smartphone is also expected to boast NFC capabilities.

Xiaomi Mi 5 price: As per the listing, the Mi 5 is expected to be priced at $599, which roughly translates to Rs 40,000. We would however recommend you to take this with the proverbial pinch of salt, as it is something that can change before launch.

The Mi 5 has been on the rumor mills for quite a while now, but Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has promised that the flagship smartphone will be ‘worth the wait’. While there is no word on when Xiaomi is planning to launch the smartphone, recent reports suggest January 21 as the launch date.
