Another day and another leak regarding the Xiaomi Mi 5. But each leak is also bringing Xiaomi’s flagship — and much-awaited — smartphone into clearer focus. The latest leaked images show an actual Xiaomi phone, complete with its fairly cool design.
If the leaked images are accurate, it is safe to say that the Xiaomi Mi 5 has a design that will turn heads. Considering that the RedMi 3 has been given a metal body by Xiaomi, the MI 5 will definitely have one. Now from the leaked we also see that it will have a shiny metal frame, extremely thin bezels and rounded corners that not only look attractive but will also help users hold and grip the phone more securely.
From the leaked images it is clear that the Mi 5 has a very polished design with premium touches. It also has a rectangular physical home button, something similar to what Samsung’s Galaxy S phones have, unlike the Mi 4 that had all touch-sensitive navigation buttons. The home button in the MI 5 will also most likely have a finger print scanner.
Xiaomi officials, including its global vice president Hugo Barra, had recently confirmed that the company’s new flagship phone would come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Unlike the Snapdragon 810, the Snapdragon 820 has four cores. However, these are custom cores and they make the Snapdragon 820 not only faster than the Snapdragon 810 but possibly also more power efficient and hence less likely to heat.
The Mi 5 is likely to sport a 5.2-inch display with 2K resolution. It may come with at least 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM though chances are that Xiaomi may also come out with a version that has 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The phone is likely to have a 16-megapixel rear-camera camera and a 3,600mAh battery.
