Wisconsin March tax collections up 5.7% year over year

(The Center Square) – Wisconsin’s March sales tax collections were up 5.7% from a year before at $531.5 million compared to nearly $503 million.

Sales tax collections are up 2% for the fiscal year.

The overall adjusted tax collection numbers for March were up 19% from a year before, mainly due to income tax collections that arrived on April 1, putting the March individual income tax collections at $562.0 million for March compared to $369.6 million compared to a year before.

Wisconsin tax collections were down more than $51 million year over year in February after being roughly even in January.

Overall, Wisconsin adjusted tax collections are up 1.7% year over year at $13.7 billion compared to $13.5 billion a year before.
