Opening of Govenment Medical Colleges

Pradhan Mantri Swasthya SurakshaYojana (PMSSY) does not cover setting up of new Government Medical Colleges/Institutes. However, under this scheme upgradation of 73 existing Government Medical Colleges/Institutes (GMCIs) has been sanctioned. Thisupgradation involves construction of Super Speciality Block (SSB) and/or Trauma Centre and/or procurement of medical equipment.
