At the IFA 2015 in Berlin, Lenovo took wraps off the Vibe S1. It’s a camera-centric Android smartphone and also one of world’s first to sport front-facing duo camera. After listing the Vibe S1 on Lenovo India website last week, the company has now sent media invites for November 23 launch event. The invite shows a portion of the glass-back design and metal frame with chamfered edges. It has a caption, “performance never looked so good.”
One of the USP’s of the smartphone is two front-facing cameras – an 8-megapixel shooter paired with a 2-megapixel unit that acts like a depth-sensor. The duo-camera implementation lets you refocus your selfies after they are taken. Right from adding DSLR-like blur effects to swapping backgrounds, you can add a dash of creativity to your selfies.
Lenovo is also focusing on the design aspect, instead of battling the specifications war. The Vibe S1 comes with a metal frame and glass-back design that adds a premium look and feel to it.
Lenovo Vibe S1 specifications and features: The handset packs a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display and it is powered by MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz. It is paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage and a microSD card slot for further expansion.
Apart from the dual front-facing selfie cameras, the Vibe S1 also comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with true-tone dual-LED flash. It is equipped with a 2,420mAh battery and includes connectivity options such as dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.
