Gionee set to launch its new Marathon M5 Plus on December 21

Smartphone major Gionee is all set to launch its Marathon M5 Plus in China after launching the Marathon M5 in India. The firm will launch the new device on December 21 in China.

The company has not revealed any other details about the handset. Keeping the Marathon M5 Plus features the ‘Plus’ moniker, it can be assumed that the handset could pack a bigger battery than that seen on the M5.
The Chinese major had launched the Marathon M5 smartphone in June and only launched the handset in India last month. The Marathon M5 is priced at Rs 17,999, the smartphone.
The USP of the smartphone comes with two 3010mAh batteries, taking the total to 6020mAh. According to the firm the batteries should last up to 4 days with additional standby time at 5 percent battery life to 62 hours.
The smartphone from Gionee supports reverse charging, which allows users to utilise the Marathon M5 as a power bank to charge other devices. It houses Amigo 3.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, and is a dual-SIM dual standby with 4G LTE functionality on both SIM card slots.
The Marathon M5 include 16GB of built-in storage; expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB); sports a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera.
